Auchan and Alibaba may buy the Chinese branch of Carrefour

According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, Carrefour is currently investigating the possibility of selling off its Chinese branch. Auchan and Alibaba have been named as potential buyers. Carrefour was established in 1959. It was a pioneer in bulk sales. Carrefour is Europe's number one bulk retailer, and the world's number two international retail chain group. Carrefour currently owns over 11 thousand retail stores in 30 countries. Alibaba has not yet commented on this news.
