China: "Export price of fresh ginger to keep rising during Spring Festival"
"The export season of fresh ginger from the Anqiu area is in the middle of operations. Overall, the export market is stable, and both export volume and export prices show a slight increase in comparison with the same period last year. The Chinese Spring Festival will arrive in approximately three weeks. According to estimates, during this period the export price of fresh ginger will keep rising." This is according to Mr. Charlie from Anqiu Baisheng Food

"The peak season of fresh ginger export will last until the start of March, as was the case in previous years. The next peak season for the European market will begin in July and finish in November. At the moment it is difficult to predict what the market conditions will be when that period arrives."

"In recent years, Vietnam and Indonesia have continued to increase the surface area devoted to fresh ginger plantation, as well as the export volume of fresh ginger. However, we do not consider this a threat to fresh ginger export from Anqiu. The main reason for this attitude is that export prices in all these countries are quite similar, but they show significant differences in export seasons and product quality. China is a leading country in the production of fresh ginger. China relies on the abundance of fresh ginger supply and its excellent product quality to occupy a leading position in the international fresh ginger market."
