“Total package for growers by taking care of fresh and industry sales”

Bio Freshi Produce expands with industry vegetables

Bio Freshi Produce is setting up a new supply chain for organic industry vegetables. Since the 1 October 2017, Sven Henze has been employed by Bio Freshi Produce. He has final responsibility for the fresh market. This gives Gerrit-Jan Roza the space to invest in the industry branch.

“We will continue to expand in industry. The expansion is planned for green vegetables such as spinach, peas and beans, and some cabbage crops such as cauliflower and sprouts. We will set up a renewed, separate chain. We’ll take on production support, as well as harvesting and processing. We’ll do things differently than current parties on the market,” says initiator Gerrit-Jan Roza.

“The special thing is that we’ll be setting up the chain completely by ourselves, and we’ll be working directly with the growers. Our growers will know who the product is grown for from the very start. This way, the customer will know in advance where their product comes from, from which plot it comes, and what the influences of the conditions during the season are. Because we’ll be able to adjust and switch during the entire process, we can better guarantee quality and continuity.”

Gerrit-Jan combines the best of two worlds, on top of the clay.

Gerrit-Jan says he sees plenty of room for an expansion on the industrial market. “More people are switching, and we definitely see a greater need for industry products on the market. Besides, the method of working is a nice and unique addition to existing parties. We can now also offer growers a total package for both fresh and industry.”

Bio Freshi Produce will be at the Bio fair in Zwolle on Wednesday and Thursday (stand number 224). They will naturally pay attention to this new branch of their company. “We’re looking for growers who want to grow with us, and who are willing to accept the challenge to lift the market for organic industry vegetables to a higher level. We would like to talk about this during the Bio fair.”
