Europe Retail Packaging will make their debut as an independent company with a stand at the Fruit Logistica. The company was a visitor of the fair for years, but this year they’re choosing to promote their herb activities with their own stand for their herb branch.
“In recent years we have continued professionalising our herb activities. Our production has been significantly expanded in the Netherlands, and during the winter season we’ve been sourcing a considerable volume from Kenya in recent years, and this is supplemented by import from Israel and Spain,” says Menno Reijgersberg. “Traditionally, the period from December to May is the busiest for herb sales, but because of the expansion in our Dutch production, the past summer also went very well.”
“We offer a broad assortment of fresh cutting herbs, varying from basil, chives and mint, and a dozen other types of herbs in various packaging for retail and wholesalers. We’re very much in control of complete traceability,” Menno continues.
“With our own brand 5Senses we experienced a significant growth in recent years, and we have built a good name for ourselves among caterers and restaurants, among others. By participating in the Fruit Logistica, we’re hoping to also gain more name recognition within international retail. This way, we want to show that the herb business isn’t just something we do on the side, but that it’s an activity that has our attention full-time.”
