"Acquisition comes in second"

This year, Waterman Onions from the Netherlands will be at Fruit Logistica in Berlin for the eighth time. "It is the largest fruit and vegetable trade show in the world", says Erik Waterman. "We, as Waterman Onions, do not want to miss it. All the major players in the international trade of fruit and vegetables will gather there. It is the perfect place to meet our trade partners." In this age of Internet trading, personal contact is of the utmost importance, says Erik. "You cannot do business with someone until you have shaken hands at least once." The main reason for Waterman Onions' participation in the fair is, then, also maintaining relationships. "Acquisition is secondary," says Erik. "But, of course, we also use the fair for advertising."

Brand-new stand
The 2018 edition of Fruit Logistica is special for Waterman Onions. "We will have a brand-new stand", beams Waterman. "It is a nice open stand where we can beautifully present our whole assortment of onions and specialities." Dutch growers are welcome to come and see Waterman Onions' new stand. "For growers with an interest in the world of fruit and vegetables, a visit to Fruit Logistica is a must", says Erik. "And they are always welcome to come and have a cup of coffee at our stand."
