Germany: These are the food trends predicted for 2018

In a survey, 49 food bloggers gave their opinions about current and future food trends and what foodstuffs are indispensable in their kitchens. According to the survey -which was initiated by the Munich-based food-PR agency kommunikation.pur at the end of 2017- awareness is an important issue. What foodbloggers are recommending for 2018 is to start listening to your body again, only eating products that really taste great.

In terms of quality, regionality and certification, seasonality and taste come first. In addition to regional German fruits and vegetables (such as potatoes, cauliflowers, kohlrabi and pumpkins) much attention goes towards purple carrots, pak choi, quince, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, ginger and jackfruit.
