Navel oranges in Fuzhou suffer from overcast and rainy weather

From mid November Fuzhou county has suffered from strong, cold air currents, which caused a succession of overcast and rainy days while the temperature dropped. In the Navel orange orchards fruit burst or dropped prematurely. Furthermore, since this is precisely the season in which Navel oranges ripen, the overcast and rainy weather is causing farmers touble in collecting the harvest. At the same time, the purchasing price of Navel oranges has also decreased.

The Navel orange price dropped from its original 2.5 yuan [0.38 USD] per 0.5 kilo to about 1.7 yuan [0.26 USD] per 0.5 kilo, which gives the fruit farmers a definite loss. Based on the forecast of Hezhou weather station the 21st and 22nd of November will receive fluctuating west wind, which leaves Fuzhou with continued overcast and rainy weather, and low temperatures. On the 23rd the weather is clouded, and on the 24th Fuzhou will again suffer from more rain.
