"So, we must see this year as a learning curve in order to determine how we will market our Osteen mangoes next year. They remain an unique variety of mango, and in the end, we did sell them all", says Kenneth. "Now we are switching to the Keitt variety. We are starting with a limited volume. The problem with the Keitt is that they are generally available in large sizes, while the smaller sizes are more in demand."
The cherimoya from Malaga are also increasing in volume. "These are primarily destined for supermarkets. It remains a difficult product for day trading because it has a limited shelf life. The demand for this product is, however, increasing. We are also sending more organic cherimoyas to the Netherlands", says Kenneth. In December, the company also, again, has organic, as well as conventional, kumquats available."There is not a huge demand, but it is increasing every year."
