The Xiuwen kiwi picking season began on September 28. Everyone who's been waiting for it can now at last try this very special fruit. In 2017 about 5,334 ha were planted with kiwi and bore 60.000 tons of fruits. Estimated prices will range from 10 to 30 yuan per kilo. Xiuwen kiwifruit is also known as the Long Gui kiwi. It is a late maturing variety. All the other varieties that grow lower than 1,030 meters above sea level have already been picked. At this moment, Xiuwen county has 1,113 ha of kiwi cultivation areas - one quarter of all the kiwi cultivation areas in China.
