China: Yanqi Hui county starts 13000 hectare red pepper bumper harvest

Farmers from the autonomous Yanqi Hui county in Xinjiang are busy drying red peppers in the Gobi desert, with peppers as far as the eye can see. Yanqi Hui county is located in the middle of the Tianshan mountains in Xinjiang. It is the most important red pepper production area in Xinjiang, currently consisting of almost 13000 hectares (130000 mu). This is a growth of 55% compared to last year. Their harvesting season has now started.
