It has been a month since the decision on the new construction of the wholesale market in its traditional location was made. Nevertheless, this decision has not been sitting easily with the public. The mood is still very tense after the political decision of the Munich wholesale market. Hans Buchhierl, representative of the location-initiative, reports: "There is still uncertainty about the future of the wholesale market, conversations with the vendors and tenants have shown that. Due to the amendment of the Große Koalition there is still no planning security."

Many traders and parties involved are doubting the seriousness and the feasibility of the city council resolution. "Even though the majority of political decision-makers have decided to keep the traditional location of Sendling. However, it is only a matter of time before the location will be discussed yet again; because the resolution of the city Munich, to plan and re-construct the wholesale market hall with the help of a private investor within the next four years - by 2021 - is simply not realistic. By using an investor, the existing plans which could have been used to some amount, are completely discarded. Now the price for a completely new plan will be much higher and nobody knows how it's going to end," Oliver Rob, another representative of the initiative, explains.
Therefore, the location initiative is beginning new discussions for the further planning of the new construction with the local government. At this point this is important to "optimise the user requirements and to find constructive solutions and options," thinks Andreas Buchner, manager of the Hausladen Fruchthandelsgesellschaft mbH and supporter of the initiative.
