Maersk Line aims to grow its refrigerated cargo transport due to the enormous potential it represents, and which currently accounts for about 43% of its annual turnover: "With cranberry alone the country has gone from exporting 10,000 tonnes in 2015 to 40,000 tonnes this year", said the manager of the company for Peru, Diego Blotte.
He anticipated that next month the shipping company will arrive at the port of Pisco, via SeaLand. It should be noted that Maersk Line currently has landings at the ports of Callao and Paita.
"With this, we will allow producers to export from the port of Pisco to the whole world, with a cost and time benefit. We are also helping to decongest the port of Callao," said the executive, who added that he also sees potential in the transport of fishmeal.
For the shipping company, it is all part of its expectation to import directly from Asia to the port of Callao.

Maersk Line expects to grow by 13% compared to its sales in 2016, due to the fact that in the first half of the year, despite the economic situation in the country, it already has obtained that percentage. In addition, the export of refrigerated cargo grew in the first half of the year by 23%, compared to the same period in 2016.
On the other hand, the shipping company plans to launch the Remote Container Management (RCM) application in the last quarter of the year to see the loading process in real time.
For the manager in Peru of Maersk Line, the movement of containers would have a growth in volume this year of 15% compared to 2016, which means 1,350,000 TEU. As for the container's transport rates, these would have to increase as a reflection of what happens at the global level.
