La Linea Verde attends PLMA

Created in 1979, PLMA (Private Label Manufacturers Association) is the international organisation dedicated to the promotion of private labels. It has branches in Amsterdam and New York and currently counts over 3,500 members worldwide, from businesses specialising in private labels to those producing private label products as well as their own brands. PLMA offers events, programmes and services planned specifically for this sector.

Nielsen's most current data show that the popularity of private labels continues to grow all over Europe. The data collected for the 2016 yearbook show that the share grew in 13 of the 20 countries followed by Nielsen.

In addition to increases in the UK, France and Germany, great progress was registered in Central and Eastern Europe as well. Volume shares grew by over 30% in Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia while, in Poland, the share is four times what first registered in 2003.

Who produces private labels?
Private label producers are divided into three categories:
  • Large companies producing both their own brands and private labels.
  • Small and medium companies producing almost exclusively private labels.
  • Large dealers and wholesalers that own their production facilities and sell private labels to their stores.
La Linea Verde at PLMA
For the first time, fresh-cut and fresh soup leader La Linea Verde, based in Northern Italy, will be among the exhibitors at PLMA Amsterdam (16th-17th May 2017). The company produces both traditional and organic products and works with its own brand (DimmidiSì) as well as being a reliable co-packer for over 50 private labels both in Italy and abroad.

With a turnover of €225 million in 2016, La Linea Verde is doing well on the foreign markets (Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Serbia, Czech Republic, Belgium), which generate 35% of its turnover.

La Linea Verde management will welcome guests in Hall 8 Stand F-8727, where an assortment of fresh soups will be available to taste.
