The call made by Helga Krismer (Die Grünen NÖ [The Green Party, Lower Austria]) to boycott domestic potatoes is a direct attack against local agriculture. An international comparison shows that MOCAP is also used in other European countries. And not without reason. Belgian, Dutch, French and British crops are protected by MOCAP. In many European countries other insecticides are also permitted. The agricultural chamber of Lower Austria is amazed that a parliamentary party is denying our farmers professional and responsible action.

The daughter tubers are meant for eating, which are yet to develop over the summer period. The insecticide is not taken in by the daughter tubers, leaving no risk in the crop.
