Tomato Management returns to show off its variety of services

Heading back to this year’s Viva Fresh Expo puts Tomato Management Corp. (TMC) back on very familiar territory. “We’ve been going to this show since its inception,” says Scott Blanchard of the Houston, Texas-based company, which notably handles more than just tomatoes. It also handles citrus, bell peppers, mangos and avocados for example. “This is something in our wheelhouse.”

Tomato Management’s wheelhouse is largely the business it does south of the border. “We do probably 75 percent of our business in Mexico and we have a distribution center in the Valley where we repack, consolidate, and offer other services to our customers,” notes Blanchard.

Up close and…
Like many long-time exhibitors at Viva Fresh, Blanchard likes the show’s intimate feel. “You get a little more personal at this show with your buyers,” he says. This year, along with presentations at the booth, Tomato Management will hand out marketing material to let visitors know exactly what the company does. “We are hopeful that more people will recognize the services and value we have to offer,” he says. “We need to let people at this show know of our products and services because many customers use us for different reasons. Some because of the quality product we import, some for our consolidation and some for the variety of commodities we handle. The most important thing we offer is quality. Our QC staff loads what our customer desires, including pictures of the product, weight, sizes, etc. This is what we do for all our customers.”

This year Blanchard suggests that visitors of the show pop by and see everybody’s booth. “There are some new people coming down to this show to check it out,” he adds. Tomato Management can be visited at booth #324.
