Spain: Sweet Grapes to launch new seedless line

Sweet Grapes is a Spanish company dedicated to the production and commerce of different varieties of table grape, with a focus on the white grape (Victoria), the seedless white grape (Superior), the red grape (Red Globe) and the seedless red grape (Crimson). In total, Sweet Grapes trades around 5 million kilos of grape per year. The present weather is not affecting produce that has still to be harvested. "For now the climate is not affecting the grape, since those cultivated in Valle del Vinalopó start blossoming by the end of this month", said Estrella Miralles from Sweet Grapes.

Regarding international prices, the red and white grapes are a bit lower than usual, but it's expected that these will rise. As for the price for red and white seedless grapes, Estrella commented that "they are inferior to last year's prices and a big rise is not expected".
Italy, England and France are the main export markets for Sweet Grapes. "We also export to countries like the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal", stated Miralles. Sweet Grapes wish to boost their exports to Asia, Arabic countries and in Europe they desire to have a bigger presence in Central European and Nordic countries.

Sweet Grapes is characterized by its exclusive dedication to production and commerce of grapes. Because of this, their main objective is to provide their clients with a high quality fruit and supervise each of the processes from production to sale. Sweet Grapes has several certifications such as IFS, Globalgap and BRC.
"Sweet Grapes develops, every year, new cultivation techniques to improve color, taste and the quality of their products. They offer clients every kind of packaging, adapting to market tendencies at every moment, to make for an easier market of fresh grapes", said Estrella Miralles when talking about the difference between Sweet Grapes and the other companies producing and trading grapes in the world.
