Fruit and vegetables fresher for longer
High expectations for FIT technology
The 2012 edition of Fruit Logistica has confirmed the great interest in the main peculiarity of Food Technology & Innovative Technologies which is to allow a fruit and vegetable product to reach more distant markets, overcoming the most critical stages in his life (transport, distribution, logistics, stay on the shelves, etc.) without much waste and, most of all, without any aids that alter their characteristics
In the three-day event, operators around the world have been watching and tasting the many products that were distributed for the occasion in nice shopping carts, products subject to the exclusive treatment FIT and in fact have passed brilliantly the stress of high temperatures present in the exhibition stands
Great attention has been paid in particular to three kind of products where there is very strong international competition: strawberries, cherries and grapes both conventional and from organic farming.
As business managers of FIT explain: "Of the more than 70 operators who visited our stand, in fact, many came from South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, Chile, Peru, countries that aspire to conquer more and more European markets, as well as to strengthen their presence in the Asian and Arab, thanks to their favorable geographical position. "

"In the organic field, in addition, there was strong interest from specialized European chains and large importers, particularly in table grapes, that glimpsed the possibility of extending the period of sale of this product. We remember, in fact, that, as a physical treatment, the FIT is the only currently allowed in products from biological agriculture", added the FIT managers.
"We warmly thank all those who visited us and especially the first Italian and foreign companies that have already promised to adopt our technology, they will be the true face of FIT in the next edition of Fruit Logistica"
