Record apple harvest Southern Tyrol

The Southern Tyrol apple harvest in 2011 is thanks to good weather conditions of exceptional quality. "All varieties could be picked at exactly the right moment and this served the storage possibilities: Gerhard Dichgans, director of the Association of Southern Tyrol fruit cooperatives (VOG) declares. Also Josef Wielander, the director of VI.P, the association of fruit and vegetable growers in Vinschgau was positive recently about the quality of the harvest, size of the fruit, colour and taste of the Southern Tyrol apples.
Record apple harvest Southern Tyrol
The Southern Tyrol apple harvest of 2011 has reached a record: exactly 1.18 million tons of Southern Tyrol apples were picked and taken into storage. Compared to last year the apple harvest increased by about 11%.
