Senegal, Ivory Coast and Mauritania buy more Dutch onions
Onion export 16% lower because of lower export to Russia
Onion export 16% lower because of lower export to Russia
The export of Dutch onions was 16% lower in January and February 2011 than in the same period of 2010. The decrease from 171 to 144 million kgs is mainly the result of the decrease in exports to Russia, which decreased from 40 to 19 million kgs. Also the export to the United Kingdom and Poland is clearly lower than last year. Some African countries, such as Senegal, Ivory Coast and Mauritania clearly purchased more Dutch onions than last year.
