International Paper unveils new cauliflower and bulk pepper trays at FruitLogistica 2011
"Corrugated Packaging - Still the Natural Choice" is the theme of International Paper's presence at FruitLogistica 2011 (Stand A-06 in Hall 4.2). The world's largest paper and forest products company and European leader in fresh fruit and vegetable
packaging will present its latest innovations such as a unique from-field- to-shelf cauliflower tray and a transport and storage tray for bulk peppers at the most important international tradeshow for the fresh produce trade in Berlin, Germany from February 9-11.
"Today's customers are ever more demanding for better packaging solutions which are more sustainable, offering high-quality graphics printing and help eliminate waste from the supply chain", says Greg Gibson, Vice President & General Manager of International Paper's corrugated packaging business in Europe, Middle East & Africa. "So we developed several innovative solutions, including for packing cauliflowers and bulk peppers."
International Paper's Innovative Corrugated Trays Save Time and Money
The unique cauliflower box, originally designed for a customer in France, can be used for packing the produce directly after harvesting in the field, transporting it to the supermarkets and ultimately displaying it in the shelves. It offers significant cost and time savings for the customer, reduces waste and is much greener than any alternative packaging material. The bulk pepper tray, initially developed for a Spanish customer, for the transport and storage of bulk peppers offers the customer significant
logistics and branding advantages in comparison to the packaging material
that was traditionally used before.
Partnering with Customers to Provide Unique Tailored Solutions
"At International Paper, we are proud to offer a unique service to each of our customers by understanding their specific needs and building solutions to meet those needs", Mr. Gibson notes. "Our packaging solutions are designed to maximize product safety, design functionality and supply chain efficiency while minimizing the impact on the environment. Ultimately, our success is underpinned by our ability to operate locally, providing local service, and at the same time to marry that with International Paper's
global capabilities."
Visitors are invited to meet International Paper representatives, discuss individual corrugated packaging solutions and learn more about why corrugated packaging is still the natural and most sustainable choice. Stand A-06 in Hall 4.2.
