Bigger volumes of Sharon fruit at Mtex
Starting this week, Mtex will ship Sharon fruit to Europe again. Although the season started already a while ago, Mtex wanted to wait for the Spanish Persimmon season to end. Spanish growers had bigger sizes and got lower prices this season.
Mtex expects a larger volume of Sharon fruit this season. “This is due to an increased acreage and a better yield”, says Oron Ziv, Manager of Mtex Holland. “The good quality is thanks to a high brix level in the fruit.”
The drought in Israel didn’t affect the Sharon fruit. “The fruits already have been harvested and are stored in our coldstores.”
