The Thai fresh lychee season has begun this month, with the first of three annual harvests
"Thailand Lychee Season is off to a Sweet Start"

Exoriens Co., Ltd. exports fresh lychee throughout the three big harvest periods in Thailand, starting this month in March, with the second harvest (of a different variety) around April 8, and the final harvest (from the northernmost region) finishing end of May. The variety for the first harvest is called "Sampao Tong" - a "moderately-low temperature cultivar", grown in Chantaburi province. Hand picking is the sole harvesting method.
Thai lychees of superior quality have a plump, full-bodied fruit, with firm, sweet, and juicy flesh which separates cleanly and easily from the skin. Commercial production requires an experienced horticultural manager able to deal with appropriate crop management practices such as irrigation, tree nutrition, pest load etc. There is also a need to have an efficient packing and cool room facility to export the fruit, or the crop will deteriorate quickly after harvest.
All of Exoriens' fresh lychees are thoroughly cleaned before export. Branches are cut off of the lychees, leaving a stem of only about 0.3-0.5 cm. This minimizes the chances of any infestation by insects. Extensive cool-chain management ensures that the fruit is preserved at the height of its quality, all the way from the farm to the customer.
The Sampao Tong variety retains its quality in controlled temperatures upwards of 45 days. The temperature for storing fresh lychees should never be above 7 degrees Celsius, with 2-3 degrees being the ideal.

Exoriens has experience shipping lychee to distant locations, with transit times of as much as 30 days from Thailand. The company utilizes the best techniques in packing and loading lychees to eliminate the risk of any deterioration in quality.
This year Exoriens is looking to expand into new markets in North America and Europe.
