France: Proposal European Commission not received with thanks
The proposal of the European Commission for a free market between the EU and Morocco is regarded as a provocation by French opponents. The European Commission proposed to increase the Moroccan import quota for tomatoes (+22%), courgettes (+150%) and cucumbers (+140%).
This is seen as the beginning of the end. The French cultivation already experienced a decrease of 53% in the proceeds for fruit and 34% for vegetables during the last year.
