Holland: Nunhems present new carrot variety Romance F1
During the horticulture fair held on 9, 10 and 11 December at Venlo, Holland, Numhems presented its new carrot variety Romance F1. Roland Koets, representative for the carrot grower in the Netherlands said: "The Romance carrot is recommended for its taste. All visitors to the Nunhems' stand were able to taste delicious dishes, amongst which fresh hotchpotch, prepared by company Ekra with the variety Romance F1."

The taste of the Romance-carrot been judged as 'very good' during the tasting test recently organized by Odin. Romance F1 only needs about 120 growing days, which is slightly less than the standard in the market. Roland: "For organic growers this is a big advantage as they can then have an extra weed treatment and the first flight of the carrot fly is avoided."

Romance F1 is beautifully smooth and uniform. This means less losses when washing and a high yield will be obtained from the carrot washers. In addition to Romance F1 Nunhems also have the varieties Laguna F1, suitable for the first and early segment and Elegance F1 for the late segment.
