Germany: Freshconex announce member tours for 2010
The United Fresh Produce Association will host a Member Welcome Reception and retail/city tour for members and guests on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 as a kick-off to this year’s FRESHCONEX and Fruit Logistica trade fairs in Berlin. The reception and tour are sponsored by Fresh Factory, a United fresh-cut processor member based in Hamburg, Germany.
"We’re pleased to host this tour and welcome event for members coming to visit our market here in Germany," said Fresh Factory owner Klaus Klische.
In addition, the Association has named the Berlin Marriott Hotel as its headquarters hotel. All United members and friends are invited to book rooms within the United Fresh block at the Berlin Marriott for the discounted rate of EUR 175 per night.
"As our relationship with Fruit Logistica and FRESHCONEX continues to grow, we felt it was important for United members from around the world to have a central meeting place in Berlin," said United Fresh Chairman of the Board Jim Lemke, C.H. Robinson Worldwide.
The FRESHCONEX and Fruit Logistica trade fairs will take place February 3-5. United will host its own booth in Hall 1.1 of the FRESHCONEX expo, and will again partner with Market Intelligence, publishers of Eurofruit Magazine, to deliver daily educational sessions in the FRESHCONEX Business Forums.
Finally, on Thursday evening February 4, United continues its tradition of hosting a reception at the trade fair for members, visitors and guests in the United Fresh booth.
"This year’s activities at the show provide a great opportunity for United members and friends from around the world to see first-hand the latest innovations and trends in the German retail market, and network with business leaders throughout the week," said David Barney, chairman of United’s Global Advisory Council, Bakkavor, UK. The Global Advisory Council will also meet during the show.
