Solar Innovations, Inc. announces the completion of their showroom greenhouse

Solar Innovations, Inc.,  a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial greenhouses; conservatories; sunrooms; skylights; folding, tilting, sliding, and stacking glass doors, walls, windows, and screens; announces the completion of their showroom greenhouse.

With Solar Innovations’ greenhouse installed and operational at their new facility in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, their customers, dealers, sales representatives, and vendors can visit the new building to see one of Solar’s state-of-the-art structures in operation. Tropical and traditional plants are being grown in the greenhouse in order to showcase the versatility of Solar Innovations’ greenhouses.

The newly completed greenhouse is a high performing structure that is fully equipped with Solar Innovations’ extensive line of greenhouse accessories. Grow lights, misting and drip systems, foggers, greenhouse benches (tiered, mesh top, and wood slat), plant hangers, and circulation fans ensure that the plants are receiving all of the necessary stimulation for them to flourish. An environmental control system is programmed to manage the greenhouse accessories and maintain the desired growing environment.

Solar Innovations’ showroom greenhouse is a straight eave, double pitch structure with one gable end which includes awning windows, two ridge vents, and two eave vents. The operable ridge and eave vents each have six bays and are controlled by thermostats. This greenhouse is also adorned with several decorative elements of ring and collar ties, ridge cresting, a finial, interior muntin grids, decorative gutters, and rake molding. The entire structure was constructed with both of Solar’s seven inch and four and one half inch aluminum systems in Sandstone frame finish and LoE 272 insulated glass.

There are two styles of interior, retractable shades which will soon be installed on the greenhouse. These shades will be made of both commercial and residential fabric selections. Customers and dealers that come to visit Solar Innovations will be able to see how the shades operate in addition to the overall workings of the greenhouse.

With an operational greenhouse now on-site, Solar Innovations will be monitoring the energy usage of the structure and accessories. Solar Innovations, Inc. intends to use the greenhouse for passive solar production and storage; the ultimate goal for this greenhouse is to utilize both passive and active solar energy to create a “zero energy” greenhouse structure.

In addition to monitoring the energy usage of the greenhouse to be even more environmentally-friendly, the plants will also be closely monitored to determine if LoE and laminated glasses have any effects on the plant growth.

Solar Innovations, Inc. provides a wide variety of configurations, colors, glazing options, and accessories for greenhouses. For hobby gardeners to research horticulturalists, Solar Innovations can provide the desired environment with aesthetic appeal.
