Egyport for export and trade
Egyport is one of the main exporters in Egypt, established in 1999, located in Alexandria.

The company began by exporting dry foods and cereals to Arabian countries, moving on to export fresh fruit and vegetables to the European markets such as Germany, Italy and the UK. Thier exports include grapes, capsium, strawberries, oranges, peppers and onions.
Egyport has large cultivation areas which support all European market specifications quality control standards. They handle the whole process from planting, harvesting, packing, cooling, storing through to the sale.

The harvest periods are as follows:
Lombardi pepper - July to Dec
Capsicum - Dec to April
Grapes – 25 May to July
Oranges – Dec to 15 May
The company has membership of various organisations including the Food Export Council and IMC, they are ISO 9001:2008 certificated.
Egyport has enjoyed a 25% increase in sales compared to 2008. The biggest challenge this year was introducing sliced peppers in brine for use as pizza toppings, it was tough to begin with but eventually was a great sucess in Germany and Italy.
The expectation is an increase in demand in 2010 and also a broadening in the selection due to new contracts from international companies in Germany, Italy, Spain and Denmark.
And as for the future, Egypt hopes to become the best exporter in Egypt dealing in all types of agricultural products to international standards, increasing product varieties and penetrating new markets worldwide.
