New Quality Trademark for the Arava Region
A group of five Israeli exporters have cooperated in the initiation of labeling their produce with a new independent regional trademark.
This idea for a new trademark was set in motion as a result of the vast increase in fresh produce, particularly in bell peppers, from other regions around the country. This increase has resulted in varying standards of quality that have been noticed in the worldwide markets.
The Arava region has established a reputation for its high quality produce due to the perfect growing conditions and the experience of its growers. During the past few years, growers from other regions have been trying to follow the Arava success, but some have failed to reach these high standards.
The Israeli companies ARETZ, MGD, Sunnydan, Shoval and Pilpel Faran, have initiated the idea of this new regional trademark are sole Arava exporters. They are aiming to separate their quality produce, by drawing the attention of the worldwide importers, thus trying to protect the good reputation that they have worked so hard to establish.
The new quality trademark “Produce Origin-Arava Valley” (see picture above), is unique for these five exporters, and already appears on cartons and pallets in the international markets today.
