Rijk Zwaan active at Grüne Woche with Salanova
At the Grüne Woche exhibition in Berlin, vegetable breeding company Rijk Zwaan will be handing out 30,000 plastic carrier bags containing a ‘double pack’ of its unique lettuce Salanova, plus a Salanova cutter and various information leaflets on Salanova. The Grüne Woche in Berlin is the largest consumer exhibition on nutrition in Europe, which makes it the perfect platform for Rijk Zwaan to promote its ‘one-cut-ready’ lettuce. Rijk Zwaan shares a glasshouse at the fair with AGF Promotie Nederland.

Salanova is the totally new lettuce type from Rijk Zwaan. It gives a compact head which only needs one cut for it to separate into a mass of small, ready-to-use leaves. Salanova® also tastes delicious and fresh.
Rijk Zwaan’s unique lettuce type Salanova is enjoying great success with vegetable processors. In order to make this lettuce knows as a fresh product as well, Rijk Zwaan has developed a consumer campaign entitled “Taste the nova way of living”. The German consumer fair Grüne Woche is the first exhibition where this new campaign will be introduced.
Every day, Rijk Zwaan will be handing out 3,000 ‘double packs’ of Salanova to the public. A Salanova cutter is included, which will enable the consumer to prepare the lettuce, ready to eat, with one simple action. The company hopes that this will convince consumers of the high quality and taste of this unique, fresh lettuce.
Salanova is available in Germany at Edeka, Rewe, Kaiser’s/Tengelmann, Aldi-Süd and Lidl.

The exhibition in Berlin runs for 10 days, starting on Friday, 18th January. Dutch Minister for Agriculture, Mrs. Gerda Verburg, will also be touring the exhibition.
