Great atmosphere at PMA Foodservice tradeshow

On Sunday, July 26, the PMA Foodservice tradeshow was held as part of a weekend full of activities including educational sessions, a golf tournament and a 5k run. The popularity of the show continues to grow due to a combination of location, opportunities for networking and growth of the fresh produce category within foodservice. “The availability of fresh produce on restaurant menus is increasing and in general, there is a huge movement towards fresh,” said Joan Wickham of Sunkist.

“This show is very intimate due the smaller venue,” commented another exhibitor. The show took place at Portola Plaza, downtown Monterey. The maximum number of exhibitors at this location is limited to 164, but exhibitors as well as attendees were raving about the benefits of a smaller show. One of the attendees said it results in an opportunity to meet and greet a lot of people as the floor plan is not so spread out. Exhibitors were also positive about the high interest from customers.

The intimate and happy atmosphere at the show was confirmed at 3:30 pm when the show’s Happy Hour started. Attendees were toasting in the aisles and happy exhibitors were sipping on their glasses of wine. All in all, a very good atmosphere to do business.
