"Cuori Rossi" vine tomatoes are one of Cherry Passion's main products, which also distributed the produce under the Dutch VDN brand.
The imported tomato season will continue until late October. The quality is excellent and prices hover around €1 and €1.15/kg. Stefano explained that, usually, prices are quite high in April, May and June and decrease in summer to rise again towards the end of the season.
As regards California peppers, Cherry Passion sells both yellow and red ones, "though there is not much difference in price, just like in other European countries. Italian supermarkets tend to sell them at the same price, especially since consumers usually do not buy only one colour."
Generally though, prices in the pepper market can vary quickly.

Cherry Passion also sells Iceberg lettuce and endive. "We will start with the Iceberg soon, with a peak between June and August, whereas we sell endive throughout the year. Unfortunately endive is not very popular in Italy, many do not know it should be cooked like a pepper - cut in four and grilled or baked in the oven."
