National Mango Board elects new officers

The National Mango Board (NMB) elected new board officers during their March board meeting in Long Beach, CA. The new officers took an oath before the full board, United States Department of Agriculture representative, NMB staff and legal counsel to lead and carry out the duties and responsibilities as an officer and member of the NMB in an unbiased manner, and in accordance with the intent of the Commodity Act and the Mango Order.

Danny Pollak of Sea Girt, NJ, will serve as chairman and Greg Golden of Mullica Hill, NJ, as vice-chairman. Serving as secretary is Altamir Martins of Fortaleza, Brazil, and serving as treasurer is Chris Ciruli of Tubac, AZ. The team of new officers along with the rest of the board will continue to uphold the NMB’s mission to increase consumption of fresh mangos in the U.S. through innovative research and promotional activities, while fostering a thriving industry.

“The NMB appreciates previous officers for laying the foundations for 2015, and for motivating and leading the board and staff through groundbreaking projects and promotional activities that will help drive mango consumption and awareness throughout the year,” stated Manuel Michel, NMB Executive Director. “We look forward to working with the new leadership and to the wealth of ideas that this board will generate for the mango industry.”
