Adelino Cordioli, owner of Adfruit and Giulia Frutta, talked about the kiwi containers that were denied access to Taiwan: "The correct positioning of probes is essential, that is why I need to thank agronomist Giovanni Bulzacca and the technicians of the Phytosanitary service in Verona, who set up the probes correctly from the start, so we did not have any problems."
The wrong positioning of the probes caused problems not only to the suppliers, but also to the clients, who had already programmed the distribution of these goods.
Adfruit was established in 2002 in Lugagnano di Sona (Verona).
"We pack and export kiwis overseas as well as peaches/nectarines to Europe. Our Italian partners grow the fruit and shortly we will be building a new production plant to meet the latest market needs."
Giulia Frutta was established in 2008 and it specialises in the production of peaches/nectarines and kiwis. The objective was to invest in orchards outside the production areas, so as to avoid viruses (Sharka for stonefruit and bacteriosis for kiwis).
"We are quite happy with the quality of the produce and with the fact that there are no diseases."
