In Berlin, Plastik will promote its Oroplus® protection film. "We are still researching how the film influences the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of fruit and protects it from harmful agents. In addition, we are developing new ways to use the film. We want to prove that the quality of crops can be improved by using Oroplus®," explains Massimo Bizzarri, export and central/northern Italy manager for the company.
Oroplus® tested at the Agricultural Studies Dept. (Dipsa) of the Università di Bologna, scientific partner of the "Oroplus® beyond rain protection" project.
"In Southern Italy, our product is used mainly to protect table grapes, whereas in the North it is also used for cherries, kiwis, flowers/plants and small fruit. There is still a lot of room for growth in the kiwi, cherry and flower/plant sector, and that is where we are focusing on."

"We are also currently working to supply, test and provide technical support for this film in twenty countries in four continents. In some areas we also work with Ginegar. During the first part of 2015, we will have European and extra-European delegations visit our test fields and we will take part in three international events in addition to Fruit Logistica."
