'Flotte Karotte' makes home deliveries of regional foods

Christian Goerdt is the founder of the German company 'Flotte Karotte'. From Bochum he delivers locally grown food to homes in the region. He gets the food from suppliers, most of whom he has known for 18 years.

"You can achieve more together than alone," Goerdt is sure of this. "I know all the companies in the area." Christian Goerdt began his career as a grower, and in the 1990's the idea for the 'Flotte Karotte' was born. He thought that the goods should be delivered to the customer's homes, and this became a huge success. He was able to expand his assortment by buying organic fruits and vegetables from other companies. 18 years later he has a customer base of 12,000. He delivers his products in a striking bus that has a big carrot on the roof.
