WP Rawl joins National Kale Day movement

The second annual National Kale day is upon us and this year WP Rawl has partnered with the movement in a continued effort to promote the kale category.

Launched in 2013 by Dr. Drew Ramsey and Chef Jennifer Iserloh, National Kale Day is always held on the first Wednesday in October. It promotes kale’s incredible health benefits, celebrates kale’s culinary versatility and promotes eating, growing and sharing kale throughout America while supporting the efforts of kale farmers.

This year, National Kale Day has partnered with various companies including WP Rawl with the goal of raising more awareness for the already popular leafy green. Together, National Kale Day and WP Rawl will share new recipes through a National Kale Day-Kale Up! eCookbook available on WP Rawl’s Facebook page, as well as how-to videos and even a “What Kind of Kale Are You?” quiz. Retailers were also included in the awareness campaign with access to ad slicks and POS materials to promote the event.

WP Rawl will be featured at three National Kale Day events on Wednesday, including their flagship event in New York where over two hundred attendees will revel in a Raw Kale Tasting Bar at American Flatbread in the city. In Atlanta, Queen of Kale will celebrate with a tasting party and live event from 4 to 8 pm at Om Point Yoga/City of Life Café where attendees will get to try their own kale fare, including the popular Nature’s Greens Tangy Citrus Kale Yeah! Salad. Additionally, more than 300 school children in Hickory, NC will celebrate with free kale samples courtesy of WP Rawl and Nature’s Greens.
