Colombia: FTA negotiations with Japan continue

The seventh round of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which aims at achieving an FTA between Colombia and Japan, began on Monday in the Japanese capital.

The seventh round of the EPA will focus on market access and has the participation of 37 Colombian negotiators and 101 Japanese negotiators.

The Colombian Ambassador, Roberto Velez Vallejo, was responsible for opening the negotiations round and served as a facilitator between the parties.

The seventh round of negotiations for the FTA, which could be signed in 2015, will end on September 12.

Toshir Suzuki, who is representing the Japanese Government, and Javier Humberto Gamboa Benavides, representing the Colombian government, are leading the delegations.
