Driscoll’s expects early raspberry peak

Within a few weeks, Driscoll’s of EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) expects a peak in their raspberry production for the Southern production areas. As a result of the good weather conditions in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, the volumes are increasing earlier in the season compared to the previous year.

Felix Blazquez, Driscoll’s agronomist in Spain: “The rising temperature in all of our Southern countries is making sure that the raspberry plants are accelerating their growth. Especially, Driscoll Maravilla is in Spain a very successful raspberry variety. It is known by growers as a high yielding crop with good quality fruit.”

Driscoll’s aims to continually delight consumers through alignment with customers and berry growers. Blazquez: “We invest a lot in our European breeding programme, because this is the base for bringing delight to consumers. Every year, new promising raspberry varieties are launched, such as Driscoll's® Margarita™ and Driscoll's® Alicia™, which have a lot of potential for the future.”
