Price of Gariguette strawberries drops in France whilst foreign varieties increase

According to Relaxnews, the price per kilo of Gariguette strawberries has dropped 10% to €10.52. Foreign varieties have increased 11% but are still cheaper at €3.26.

Foreign strawberries are the fresh product that has seen the largest price increase in one week.

Cucumber prices have dropped 20% to €0.74/piece.

The Relaxnews price barometer is made every Wednesday using information from the Market News Service, under the Ministry of Agriculture. Every week 20 or so SNM employees record the retail prices of 150 products (fruit, vegetable, meat, fish…) in 150 medium and large supermarkets all over France (a representative sample of household consumption in France, conducted by Sofres).
