"Nadercott becomes more popular every year"

In November 2013 wholesaler Fruit Vandepoel started marketing Clementines under the brand Magique. Wim van de Poel explains about the selling process until now.
"All of our Magique citrus comes from Spain. We always start with the Clemenules variety, as soon the colour and taste are optimal. Then we started with the Clemenvilla's. The taste was very good this year. They had a high brix level and a lot of juice."

The first Clementines had a very difficult colouring process, because of only a small difference in day and night-time temperatures. "A nice colour comes during a warm day, and a cool night."

Nadercott
"Clemenules and Clemenvilla's season is now over and we started with the variety Nadercott," he said. Nadercott is a variety that is proven more and more popular with our clients. The taste is great and they have a nice colour. Besides that, they are easy to peel. When it comes to waiting for the right moment to harvest, we are more aware than other brands."

Oranges
"For oranges, we've started with the variety Navelina and since last week with Navel-Late. The latter is the most asked for and tasty orange," he reckons. Regarding prices, we are about on the same level as last year, which goes for the oranges as Clementines. We try to keep the price as stable as we can, by offering a consistently high quality product."

"To sum up: starting and stopping with varieties on the right time, will be more important in the future. That's why the brand will be positively incorporated into the range".
