Honduras has exported about 20 million boxes of melon so far in 2013, generating income in the order of 160 million dollars.

As was informed by the director of the National Health Service (SENASA), Heriberto Amador, who emphasized that the production of this fruit was scarce in 2012, but that there had been a recovery in production and exports in 2013.

In this regard, the official said melon exports increased by 20 million cases in recent months of this year, generating income of about $160 million dollars, about 2.4 billion lempiras.
