F&K contracts Panamese, Chilean and Costa Rican producers

The F&V business is changing constantly, also Frankort & Koning BV, one of the leading players on the European continent, could maintain targeted growth rate by operating very actively on a worldwide scale. “Developments are faster than ever before, requirements from retailers and other clients are getting tighter and also from the supplier side a strong performance is expected."

“We try to offer an international assortment to our clients, direct lines that bring continuity and stability. Our salespeople are becoming more and more like consultants, if we can make our clients grow, we can grow together and that’s what it’s all about,” says Leon van den Hombergh, commercial director of Frankort & Koning BV.

“From Venlo, we are becoming more and more a hub in the fruit and vegetable business, more and more international suppliers are joining our business model."

"We started to cooperate with Spanish producer groups 20 years ago, later we were proud to present several Brazilian growers (Agricola Famosa) and more recent we signed the cooperation with Agrolibano from Honduras. Now, we are very satisfied to have concluded partnerships with Panamese, Costarican and Chilean producer groups. First experiences in 2013 were very promising, and retailers asked us to continue and even increase these programmes!"

With these international supply lines, we shorten the supply chain as much as possible, our clients can be informed with direct and concrete information from all over the world. “Should we plan the next promotion with pineapples, melons, kiwi or tomatoes."
