Spain: Garlic ‘Ajo Morado’ to visit Fruit Attraction again

For the second year in a row, the Purple Garlic from Las Pedroñeras will be on display at Fruit Attraction, the annual celebration of fresh produce, to be held in Madrid on 24-26 October.

The Indicación Geográfica Protegida (the organisation attributing the protected geographical indication – or PGI – status) will demonstrate the benefits of the purple variety on a national and international level. To receive a PGI status, the product must be traditionally and at least partially manufactured (prepared, processed or produced) within the specific region and thus acquire unique properties.

The PGI stand will give out information about the variety, and visitors will be able to sample the product. The chairman of the Indicación Geográfica Protegida, José María Pacheco, stated he plans to outdo last year’s success.
