Our client is a leading company in its branch. It supplies an assortment of natural substrates, potting mix and special mixtures, which could be packed or come in bulk according clients’ demands. With a wide range of products our client tries to reach and serve professional growers like garden centre’s and professional gardeners. Last year, a new production location has been set up in the Netherlands with the capacity to increase production in the coming years. As a result of this ambitious growth, our client is searching for a:

Curious, ambitious Sales Representative for Southern Belgium and Northern France *
Residence in the region
Excellent salary package depending on background and experience

The function, tasks and responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Commercial Director in the Netherlands
  • Survey existing and potential markets
  • Notice and identify sales opportunities
  • Draft the sales policy together with Commercial Director
  • Responsible for the sales; keeping in mind the companies’ production capacities & assortment and the customers requirements
  • Maintain existing and establish new relationships
  • 80% of the time en route to visit clients and relevant fairs and seminars
  • Accurate written reports of visits, client details, appointments (quotations, orders, client database)
  • Promotion of a fast and efficient order processing and invoicing
  • Responsible for customer payments and debtor position
  • * Candidates who speak and write, next to French, Spanish and Italian, have the possibility to extend their territory towards the Spanish and/or Italian markets

To be able to fulfill this challenging job, we require:
  • Education at a secondary professional level, (NL: HBO ) Horticultural direction
  • Proven sales and marketing experience
  • Excellent expression in the French language (spoken and written)
  • Good expression in English (spoken and written)
  • Structured working and thinking style
  • An ambitious, energetic, people oriented and open personality
  • Flexible style of communication, tailored to the local/regional custom

Following requirements are a preferred (not a ‘must’):
  • Good expression in Spanish or Italian (spoken and written), which could lead to expansion of the market towards Spain or Italy.
  • Network in small fruits, “soft” fruits or arboricultural sector.
  • Knowledge of production or breeding
  • Sales experience in agro-supplies
  • When possible, a start at short notice to be feasible
