Procurement Manager
Fresh Produce

Wellpak UK Ltd is currently looking for an experienced fruit buyer to work within our procurement team.

The Role:
As part of the procurement team, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of products.

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing margin in your product group

Maintain and develop relationships with growers/suppliers and provide them with short, medium and long term programmes

Provide timely information to growers/suppliers that help to determine supply, investment and commercial strategies.

Monitoring of domestic and international stock arrivals, custom clearance, sea port and airport collections

Evaluate product quality upon arrival, manage stock levels, and ensure that the goods will be used in the correct stock rotation

Liaise closely with the sales, operations, finance and technical departments

Work in partnership with our account managers to maintain existing and win new business

Personal attributes:

• Accurate and methodical worker
• Spanish Language required, other languages an advantage
• Ability to multi task
• Work to strict deadlines
• Strong numeracy skills
• Negotiation skills
• Have an ability to cope with significant pressure, short deadlines and high workload is essential
• An ability to analyse complex issues and take decisive action
• Analytical capability, experienced with using Excel
• Listening skills
