Experienced Operational Manager Tomatoes, England

The Position
In this multi-faceted position you will be responsible for the daily production operation for quality tomatoes in the UK location of the organisation. You will carry out a wide range of activities and responsibilities including the management and control of the growing, the labour planning, quality control and labour registration. You will also lead a group of employees of different nationalities and with a range of skills and experience levels. The company is certified in a number of ways and you will ensure that work is carried out within the boundaries of this certification.
In this challenging role you will work independently and carry significant responsibility. You will report to the senior operational manager and replace him when he is away.

Function requirements
-    Further education level of working and thinking
-    Relevant technical knowledge of tomato growing
-    A number of years experience in a similar function in greenhouse horticulture
-    Good communication and management skills
-    Experience with Word and Excel
-    Up-to-date spraying licence
-    Accuracy and problem solving skills
-    Calm and positive attitude
-    Ready and prepared to live in the South East of England
-    Good knowledge of the English language particularly verbally

The company
Our client is part of a larger, international organization (51ha glass in Total), who combine the production and marketing of their product. They produce a range of varieties of top quality tomatoes, year round and supply them to English supermarket organizations.
