US: Apricot season hits peak in Eastern Washington
It’s the peak of apricot season in eastern Washington. Stemilt Growers is Washington’s largest apricot supplier, with the majority of its apricots grown and certified as organic. Eastern Washington’s arid climate and fertile soil create an ideal environment for growing apricots with vibrant hues and complex flavors. According to Stemilt marketing director Roger Pepperl, the eating quality of this year’s apricots is fantastic and the fruit will be promotable at retail throughout July and into early August.
