Italy: First Turkish cherries arrive at Cherry Passion
“As every year, the 'famous' Turkish cherries arrive. They have made us distinguished in the last seasons,” Stefano Pezzo, Cherry Passion director says. “We imported cherries from Turkish central areas situated about 1,000 metres above sea level. These products are completely different from those that had been available until last week which was at the end of the campaign and came from the Turkish coast.”
Their sizes are about 26/28 mm, so prices are quite high at the moment. According to Stefano they are going to fall in the next days. “The season will last until the end of July.”
