EACCE: Managing the quality of Moroccan food exports

The EACCE (The Food Exports Control and Coordination Organisation) has introduced a new approach to the quality management of products subject to its control as a package of incentives and structuring known as the "Internal Control Program" (PCI).

The PCI is defined as a participatory approach dedicated to the quality management of food products for export and based on a formal and sustainable commitment between the EACCE and exporters for continuous improvement in satisfaction of requirements quality and compliance applicable to them.

For its part, the control applies EACCE incentive, based on the audit of compliance and effectiveness of internal control systems and certification of products for export on the basis of planned supervision, significantly facilitated but targeted.
Therefore, the PCI must allow both parties an appropriate allocation of resources and an optimum achievement of the objectives of safety and fairness of exports, resulting in improved competitiveness of Moroccan products in international markets.

PCI currently has a number of objectives achieved. These include a dynamic and motivated team of auditors and central and regional managers whose number, skills and qualifications would benefit from being maintained and enhanced through continuous training. They would also benefit from exchange of experiences with their counterparts in national and international bodies active in the audit and certification of management systems for food quality.

There is also a pack of procedures, instructions and file management and monitoring of ICP activities, which should be adapted continuously to make it work harmoniously and allow the required levels transparency and traceability of activities and results of implementation of the PCI.
