During the 2011/2012 season

Mexico: Avocados From Mexico expects to export over 750 million lbs to the U.S.

Avocados From Mexico hopes to have a large supply of Hass avocados for fall and winter.

During the 2011/2012 season, Avocados From Mexico hopes to send more than 750 million pounds of avocados to the United States which will exceed the amount that was exported last year, by over 100 million. Due to the growth of this item, Avocados From Mexico are creating different ways to build a strong demand for avocados and increase brand recognition which serves to promote avocado consumption at various times of the day.

"Avocados From Mexico hopes once again be the market leader in the  2012/2013 season. We hope that the export volume will increase as a result of increased local production of avocados in Mexico," says Eduardo Serena, Director of APEAM Marketing. For years, Avocados From Mexico has maintained a market leadership and hopes to continue having it by providing a large volume of the fruit. The Mexican company strives to present high quality fruit and consistent in flavor all year round.

In the graph above, we can see how the 2011/2012 season recorded an increase, compared to the past two seasons, and exceeds the amount recorded in the 2008/2009 season.
The U.S. market is the most important for Avocados From Mexico. Largely due to the proximity of the market and growth in demand for the fruit in the United States. The second most important market for AFM is Japan and in third place is Canada. "We hope to build consistent relationships across markets, furthermore we expect to develop new business opportunities to build a category and establish a greater brand presence of Avocados From Mexico at a global level," assures Serena.

To conclude, Eduardo Serena points out that Mexico is the largest producer of Hass avocados worldwide. Hass Avocados grow throughout the year in Michoacan Mexico, the place where the avocado originated and the only place in the world
where trees produce naturally 4 times a year, resulting in consistent production of avocados during the all the year in a great variety of levels and sizes.
